Shawn LaRé Brinkley is an energetic spirit who is most often described as a “people” person. In her professional life, Ms. Brinkley is a Marriage Family Therapist, certified Trauma Trauma Transformation Coach, working in her private practice, Living Loved Pathways to Holistic Healing. In addition, she is quenching her thirst and feeding her love for disseminating information, (otherwise known as talking) by educating people of color and other culturally underserved groups about the benefits of holistic health care, including erasing the stigma surrounding mental health. Additional topics Ms. Brinkley speaks on include, Resilience and Reinvention; Mindfulness, Self-care/Self-love, and Healing from Trauma, to name a few. Ms. Brinkley has an extensive background working with substance abuse disorders and survivors of trauma and in 2015 she completed an Advanced Post Graduate Certificate/Degree in the Psychology of Conflict and Non-conflict Trauma from Antioch University, Los Angeles Campus. Dedicated to helping the under-served, Shawn LaRé, is an advocate for survivors of Human Sex Trafficking and has worked as a certified Life/Empowerment Coach for battered and homeless women.
Mrs. Brinkley is President of the Black Women’s Network and additionally, she serves as Vice-President on the Board of Directors for The Advot Project, an organization teaching at promise youth communication and healthy relationship skills through artistic avenues such as theatre/drama, music, poetry/spokenword, and dance. Shawn LaRe’s community service awards include, The Elite Woman of Achievement award presenting her platform on Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention; a certificate of recognition from Council Member, Paul Krekorian, 2nd District for outstanding service in the community in 2015 and Certificate of Appreciation from Council Member Mitch O’Farrell,13th District, for exemplary efforts and accomplishments in the city of Los Angeles in 2017 and in 2018 she was awarded the Distinguished Alumni Award at the University of Phoenix Leadership Awards Ceremony.
