LaShondria Smith, the Founder of Legacy of Hope, International, a non-profit organization centered in enhancing communities through empowerment, education, and offering resources. During the pandemic and new norms of social distancing, LaShondria launched a virtual SisterFriend Check-in to offer a place of hope, support, and reflection for women. She is also a military spouse and veteran advisor in areas of educational/career pursuits. LaShondria served as a Youth Leader, teen Bible Study teacher, and offers mentorship to teachers through birthing, facilitating, and sustaining their own bible studies. As a survivor of Teen Dating Violence (TDV) and teen pregnancy, she serves as a guest speaker for Domestic Violence Awareness events and encourages single mothers, “You can make it too!” She is a two time university commencement speaker, holds a Master’s in Clinical Psychology, and is currently pursuing her Ed.D in Community Care and Counseling. Currently, she is writing her first book and has been accepted as a collaborative author as a Black voice for a publishing company. She has been married for seventeen years to Willie, who retired from U.S. Air Force after serving twenty-three years, and they have a blended family of four boys; Darren, LaDareon, Dorian and Donterrio.
