2019 Influencer nominations now open
GULFPORT, MS — Previous honorees have included the most respected, accomplished women from across the Mississippi Gulf Coast – with careers that ranged from gospel music to veterinary medicine.
When the SUCCESS Women’s Conference returns for the fifth year from Sept. 19-21, the event once again will recognize the region’s Top Influencers – true “game-changers” who have impacted their communities through their talent and selfless dedication.
Nominations are now open for this year’s Top Influencers, who will be awarded during a breakfast at the conference on Friday, Sept. 20. Eighteen women will be selected, with one lifetime achievement honoree being named the Coast’s Most Influential Woman and an up-and-coming leader being recognized as a One-to-Watch Influencer.
Susan Hunt, former elementary school principal and Mardi Gras Museum board member, earned the Most Influential Woman distinction for 2018. Hunt, who has been called a “Biloxi institution,” has an extensive track record of community service and involvement – including advocacy for the early education program Excel by 5.
Jenny Levens — named one of Mississippi Business Journal’s Top 50 Under 40 among other accolades — was labeled the One to Watch last year. Among her charitable projects is the Long Beach Wheel Way, providing beach access to wheelchair-bound citizens and visitors.
The Top Influencer awards recognize women who:
- Demonstrate leadership and commitment to improving the community’s well-being.
- Have a sustained record of accomplishments and contributions.
- Are mentors or trusted advisors to colleagues as well as the next generation.
- Think outside the box to design and implement effective solutions.
